The Embassy conducted a meeting with mass-media representatives on January 28, 2005 in the premises of the Embassy.

Charge d’Affaires a. i. Mr. Sriwidojo welcomed the guests and wished both sides to enhance cooperation in the field of information exchange.

The official part of the meeting was followed by informal socializing and tasting of the dishes of Indonesian national cuisine.

Minister-Counsellor, Head of Information and Socio-Cultural Section of the Embassy Mr. Taufan Adityawarman was interviewed by the journalist from “Den” newspaper Varvara Zhluktenko on February 08, 2005 in the premises of the Embassy.

Indonesian delegation photoed together with gymnasium representatives after the performance of Indonesian national dance “Peacock”. The dance was performed after the ceremony of opening of the Fifth City Open Olympiad on Oriental Languages, which was held on March 17-20, 2005 in Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages #1.

On July 23, 2005 Indonesia celebrated Children’s National Day.

“There should be no longer street children. They should be protected by the state” - the Chairman of the Commission for Indonesian Children Protection Kusumo Priyono has declared.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine has organized a program for Indonesian and Ukrainian children in the premises of the Embassy on that day.

The Embassy staff and Indonesian community in Ukraine took an active part in the sport competitions, organized by the mission and dedicated to the celebration of 60th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

On August 17, 2005 people of Indonesia celebrated 60th anniversary of Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

On September 23, 2005 representatives of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by the president Mr. Serhiy Skrypchenko met with the Indonesian delegation, led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine H. E. Mr. A. E. Alexander Laturiuw in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kyiv.

The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Indonesia.

Staying in Tbilisi, Indonesian delegation visited the Head Quarter of the United Nations Observing Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG).

Spouse of the President of Ukraine Mrs. Katerina Yuschenko delivered welcoming speech on the festive concert “A Bridge of Understanding” organized by the International Women’s Club of Kyiv and dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the United Nations.

The concert and photo exhibition took place on November 18, 2005 in the National Operetta Theatre.

Indonesian Embassy has also taken part in the festivities on the occasion of celebration of UN’s 60th anniversary.
